I found a cool article online today about tattoo removal cost. I wanted to share it with you. Getting your tattoo removed can be a scary thing, but I believe that if you do your research and get all of the information, it can be less scary. Laser tattoo removal is probably the fastest and most powerful way. However it is also the most dangerous. I actually prefer using tattoo removal cream. This is slower, but there is no potential for scarring or injury…plus it doesn’t hurt

Here’s the article:

If you are researching tattoo removal cost then it’s a pretty safe bet that you have made a mistake at some point and you would like to correct it. Maybe you broke up with a boyfriend or girlfriend after having his or her name etched into your skin. Maybe you had a little too much to drink one night and one thing led to another. Or maybe you got a tattoo 10 years ago that seemed cool at the time but now seems more embarrassing than cool. Whatever the reason, tattoo removal cost will probably be quite a bit more than the cost to get your body art in the first place.

There are a number of factors that will determine exactly how much it will cost to remove a tattoo. The color, size, and complexity of the tattoo must be taken into consideration. The price also varies from one doctor to another so it may be a good idea to shop around and get some estimates.

The most effective method for removing an unwanted tattoo is laser treatment. For a smaller tattoo it might cost anywhere from $150 to $250 per session. For a larger tattoo removal cost may be $600 or more per session and of course it will usually take multiple sessions to get it removed completely. On average it will take somewhere between 5 and 10 visits to see substantial results and it is not unheard of to have as many as two dozen visits for complete removal. You don’t need a calculator to figure out that getting rid of unwanted body art is going to be pretty expensive.

Laser treatment is not the only option but other options will not be as effective at completely removing the tattoo and methods that use caustic chemicals can also cause changes to your skin pigmentation and can also cause scarring. The least expensive option may just be to find a talented tattoo artist that can alter your existing tattoo and turn it into something you can live with.

Tattoos were intended to be permanent so it makes sense that removing them is not going to be easy or inexpensive. If it can’t be altered or hidden with makeup or clothing then laser treatment really is your only option. Checking with different doctors and doing some comparison shopping is the way to find the most affordable price and some doctors will even offer a financing plan so that you can pay small monthly payments to make your tattoo removal costs more manageable.

Many people have gotten tattoos in recent years and now they have decided that they have outgrown them for different reasons. Some people have had other peoples names tattooed on them, such as a wife or girlfriends, only to end up divorced several years later and now need to have it removed.

While it is never a good idea to get a tattoo you are not prepared to live with the rest of your life, people think of a marriage and a tattoo as a lifelong commitment, only to find that both are not. That’s where they want to know the answer to that question they have been thinking about for some time, how much does tattoo removal cost?

Many people do not think about the removal of the tattoo at the time they are getting one. In their younger years, they don’t think about placement to not be visible for employment opportunities or fads and trends that will pass.

Over a fourth of the population that is 18-25 years old now have tattoos. This is a large number when you consider that probably half of them got tattoos they will regret as they grow older and their skin starts to sag and distort the tattoo, depending on where it is located.

How much does tattoo removal cost depends on the method you choose. The most common one is laser removal, which is done in 15-30 sessions and runs from $200-$500 per session. Many patients say this procedure feels like being splattered with hot grease. Not only is it painful, but can cost up to $10,000 to get a tattoo removed.

Other methods are excision, where a dermatologists cuts out a smaller tattoo and stitches it up, or dermabrasion, where sessions of chemical peel are done by the dermatologist. Both of these can also be painful and expensive, depending on how deep and what colors are used in the tattoo. Many commercial tattoo parlors use vivid colors and deep penetration, so it may be hard to remove the tattoo.

An age-old method is salabrasion that involves salt water and abrading the tattoo surface. Not only is this method painful, it tends to leave a scar and not totally fade a tattoo, so you end up with a distorted tattoo that is worse than what you started with.

There are newer methods of tattoo removal that are not painful and can be done at home, over several weeks consistently and fade the tattoo through skin tissue regeneration and biochemical peels. This is becoming a popular method that is more affordable, safer, and easier to do at home, before taking any drastic surgical or dermatological methods.

How much does tattoo removal cost? You first need to try the most affordable and least painful method before committing to other procedures that your insurance will not cover. Maybe getting the tattoo was a mistake to begin with, but don’t make more mistakes by paying a lot of money for methods that may still not totally remove the tattoo.

So you got a tattoo, and you’re looking for a way to get it removed. Didn’t you know that tattoos were permanent? What once was cool is now a regret. Hey I know exactly what you’re going through.

As soon as I turned 18 I raced out to get my first tattoo never thinking that I would want to get it removed. I ‘knew’ exactly who I was at that age, and the tattoo I got proved it! (boy was I stupid)…

So needless to say you’re wanting to get a tattoo removed, and I’m going to take you on a journey revealing how I did it fast…

Removing tattoos has def come a long way since the day my father chugged whiskey, and pulled out the wood burner set. (no i’m not kidding)

It can even be done from the safety and privacy of your own home with some of the more popular tattoo removal creams… (or you can do the modern day equivalent of whiskey and a wood burner kit by choosing laser removal options… Ouch!)

Let’s take a closer look at some of the tat removal options you can choose from, and then the cost associated with each…

Tattoo Removal Creams - (i.e. Wrecking Balm)

Sure beats the heck out of the surgical options you used to have to choose. Skin grafts? Dermabrasions? Screw that! Not only are they dreadfully expensive and painful, they’re unnecessary. The best part about using tattoo removal creams is that they simply work, they don’t require a prescription, and they are the cheapest of all tattoo removal options.

These topical creams use skin bleaching and/or peeling agents, which over time will force the deepest injected inks of the tattoo to be erased. Don’t be fooled! Lasers aren’t any quicker. You still have to get up to 12 treatments on a tat that’s only about 5 years old.

One of the most powerful tattoo removal creams on the market to date is Wrecking Balm, and that’s the one I use too. It breaks down the ‘ink injected skin cells’, and then utilizes your body’s natural ability to heal and regenerate itself with healthy, new, ink-free skin cells. Safely, naturally, and pain free!

I would highly recommend checking out Wrecking Balm. It’s awesome!

How Does Laser Tattoo Removal Work?

This is kinda cool when you stop and think about how tattoos are removed by lasers. First, the lasers produce short pulses of light that are supposed to pass harmlessly through the top layers of skin, and be absorbed by the tattoo pigment itself. In result the pigment of the tattoo is supposed to fragment into smaller particles awaiting the removal by the body’s immune system.

There has supposedly been a lot of research that went into determining which wavelengths of light to use, and the best way to use the lasers output to remove the tattoo ink optimally.

Well that sounds good right? The only problem I can see with laser tattoo removal is the money and pain! That’s right! Have you never seen the videos of people screaming in pain as the lasers pierce the skin trying to get to the ink-stained skin cells? If not here’s a video…

The average cost for one session of laser treatment is $200 – $400. Most people that choose laser tattoo removal have one average 7-10 sessions. That’s a lot of money for something that can still lead to scarring don’t you think?

How Much Does Tattoo Removal Cost?

Like I said above, the average cost for ONE secession of laser treatments is $200 – $400. You could easily dish out $1-5k just to get one average sized tattoo removed, BUT if you simply decide to go with tattoo removal creams, then you won’t be paying anywhere near that for the same effect.

You can get the entire tattoo removed for less than $150 one time, which is probably a lot less than the tattoo even cost to get!

So I would definitely recommend at least trying that route first, because many of the products that I’ve used gave me a free trial so that I didn’t risk a thing. I could use the product, and if it didn’t work for me then I wasn’t out a single dime.

THERE IS NO SUCH THINK AS FREE TRIAL WITH LASERS!

So in conclusion, (if you haven’t guessed it by now), try one of the removal creams (i.e. Wrecking Balm) first to get your tattoo removed.
